A Community Collaboration
The Burgdorf/Bank of America Health Center provides a bright, convenient home for medical services operated by Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Connecticut Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as the City of Hartford Department of Public Health.
The center, at 131 Coventry St. on the Mount Sinai Campus of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, represents the success of a unique community collaboration. The Burgdorf/Bank of America Health Center was funded by Saint Francis, Bank of America Bank Connecticut, the City of Hartford, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and various grants.
Medical services operated by Saint Francis and UConn are located on the second floor. City programs are located on the first floor.
Medical-Surgical Services for Adults
Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Connecticut Schools of Medicine and Dentistry provide a full range of general medical care for adults.
Patients are seen by appointment for evaluation, treatment and follow-up of all non-emergency medical problems. A primary provider and nurse are assigned to each patient, assuring continuity of care.
As necessary, patients are referred to appropriate specialty services. The center has on-site specialists and/or specialty clinics in:

Women's Health Services
A full range of health services for women of all ages is provided, including neonatal, obstetrical and gynecologic care. Services include:

Dentistry
Adult and child general dental care is provided by the Saint Francis Hospital Department of Dentistry. Pediatric dental care is provided by the University of Connecticut School of Dentistry. Comprehensive and emergency services are available by appointment.

Pediatric and Adolescent Health Services
The Burgdorf/Bank of America Health Center offers a full range of care for children from birth through 21 years old. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Telephone: 860-714-2816. Location: Second floor.
Walk-in Services

Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection ProgramSFH was awarded a grant in 1997 sponsored by the CDC and the Conn. State Department of Public Health called the Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The program provides free mammograms, clinical breast exams, Pap Smears as well as screening and diagnostic services to women in Conn. who are age 40 and over (Pap Smears only for women 19-39), who have no insurance, are underinsured and low income.
